Engagement Rings, Diamonds & Estate Jewelry for Delaware County
From Media, Swarthmore, and Newtown Square, you are half an hour from America's oldest diamond district. Natural and lab-grown diamonds, custom design, engagement rings, and trusted estate buying at House of Milner Jewelers on Philadelphia's Jewelers' Row.
Delaware County shoppers have plenty of places to buy and sell jewelry, but nowhere to buy a serious or important diamond. The mall counters in Springfield and the chain stores along Baltimore Pike carry what corporate sends them, which means a handful of stock settings and a case of stones chosen by someone who has never met you. House of Milner Jewelers sits thirty minutes from most of Delco, on Philadelphia's Jewelers' Row, America's oldest diamond district. You will see more stones in an hour here than in a month of shopping locally. Clients come to us from Media, Swarthmore, Havertown, and Newtown Square for engagement rings, custom pieces, anniversary upgrades, and discreet estate evaluations and sales. They work directly with an owner, by private appointment, not a commissioned sales floor.

Thirty Minutes to a Real Diamond District
House of Milner Jewelers is a family-owned jeweler in the heart of Jewelers' Row. You work directly with an owner, not a sales floor, which means no pressure, no obscene markups and someone who will actually teach you what you are looking at. Delaware County is closer to the Row than most of the suburbs people commute in from. There is no good reason to settle for a mall display case when a real diamond district is a half-hour away.
Getting Here from Delaware County
-
Step 1
Driving in
From Media, Swarthmore, or Wallingford, I-476 to I-95 North runs you into Center City in about thirty minutes. From Havertown, Broomall, or Newtown Square, West Chester Pike to I-76 is roughly the same. Head for Sansom Street between 7th and 8th. Avoid arriving between 4 and 6 on a weekday if you can — that last stretch is where the time goes.
-
Step 2
Or take the train
SEPTA's Media/Wawa Regional Rail line runs straight into Jefferson Station at 8th and Market, about three blocks from our door. Park at your local station and skip city driving entirely. Weekend service is lighter, so check the schedule before you plan around it.
-
Step 3
Or take the El
If you are closer to Upper Darby, Drexel Hill, or Lansdowne, the Market-Frankford Line from 69th Street Terminal drops you at 8th and Market. It is the fastest option from that side of the county and it costs less than parking.
-
Step 4
Parking, if you drive
Metered street parking is usually available on Sansom and the surrounding blocks. If you would rather not circle, the garage on the Sansom–Walnut block between 8th and 9th puts you about a minute from our door. Tell us when you book and we will let you know which option is easiest for the time you are coming.
-
Step 5
Find the building
We are inside the historic J.E. Caldwell Building at 728 Sansom Street, in the heart of Jewelers' Row. Look for the J.E. Caldwell name carved above the entrance — the ornate stone facade mid-block with the rounded glass windows. If you have walked past the jewelry storefronts to 7th or 9th, you have gone a block too far.
-
Step 6
At the door
Ring the Milner button on the door panel and we will buzz you in. If you have booked a private appointment, we will be expecting you, no waiting on a sales floor.
