A perfect day. A golden hour sunset. A gazebo by the water. And a 5-carat ring from Gurkirat to Preet that said everything that needed to be said.
The Day That Changed Everything
Some proposals are elaborate productions. Others are quiet, personal, and so perfectly calibrated to the couple that no amount of planning could have made them better. Gurkirat and Preet's engagement was the second kind, a day built entirely around the things they love, ending in a moment they'll talk about for the rest of their lives.
They spent the afternoon the way they spend their best days together, doing their favorite things, just enjoying each other's company without an agenda. It was the kind of day that felt easy and full at the same time. Then, as the sun started dropping toward the water, they made their way to dinner, and to the Silver Lake Gazebo in Belmar, New Jersey, where everything was about to change.
The Moment at the Gazebo
"As we were walking up to the gazebo, he looked at me, told me how much he loved me and how excited he was for our future together."
Then Gurkirat got down on one knee.
He pulled out the ring, a stunning 5-carat elongated radiant from House of Milner Jewelers on Philadelphia's historic Jewelers' Row, and asked Preet to marry him. With the sunset behind them, white florals below, and a neon sign glowing in the background, she said yes.
Gurkirat and Preet celebrated the moment together before sharing the news with their family and friends. The kind of evening you replay in your mind for years.
The Ring
A 5.32 carat elongated radiant. The elongated radiant cut is having a major moment right now, and it's easy to see why. It combines the brilliance of a round diamond with the elegant length of an emerald, sitting beautifully on the hand and appearing even larger than its carat weight suggests. Preet's ring was designed and sourced at House of Milner on Jewelers' Row. At 5 carats, in a radiant cut, it is exactly as extraordinary as it sounds.
Silver Lake Gazebo, Belmar, NJ
Belmar's Silver Lake Gazebo is one of the Shore's most quietly romantic spots, tucked between Silver Lake and the Atlantic Ocean, open to the sky, and spectacular at golden hour when the light goes warm and the water catches everything. It's the kind of place that makes you feel like the world slowed down a little. For an evening like this one, it was exactly right.
Congratulations, Gurkirat & Preet
From everyone at House of Milner, congratulations to you both. It's an honor to be a small part of a story this good.
